Jayson Newlun Charged With Sexually Assaulting Baby

Clay County, MO –  Missouri man, Jayson Newlun, got a lesson in swift consequences after he was caught in the act of sexually abusing a one-year-old little girl.

Jayson Newlun, age 26, was a family friend of the child’s parents, and they asked him to babysit on Thursday night, June 29, while the parents went to the store, according to KCCI.

Once the parents got to the store, the mother realized that she had left her Women, Infants and Children (WIC) folder at home.  So the parents left, and went back to their residence to get it.

When they got there, according to court documents, the child’s mother noticed that the door to her daughter’s bedroom was open, and that Newlun wasn’t on the couch.  She walked into the bedroom, and watched as Newlun took an ‘inappropriate photo’ of her daughter before he touched the child’s genitals and started masturbating himself.

The child’s mother ran and got her husband, who confronted Newlun.  According to court documents, Newlun screamed just before he was tacked by the child’s father. In what surely must have been an accident, a dresser drawer repeatedly hit Newlun in the face, while the baby’s father was repeatedly punching Newlun.  A neighbor, who was not identified, stepped in, and stopped the father from going further.

While waiting for police to get there, the mother asked Newlun why he would do something like this.  He told her that he didn’t know, and her response was “I hope you go down for this.”  Newlun responded, “I do, too”.

The parents had only been gone for ‘five to ten minutes’, according to family members.  Newlun was ‘detained’ and charged with statutory sodomy of a 1-year-old girl.  He is in the Clay County Detention Center, with a requested bond of $250,000.

The identity of the parents has not been released.
