FRAZEE — A 31-year-old Frazee man faces charges in Otter Tail County District Court for allegedly committing sexual acts with a child, according to the court documents.

The complaint states that Sergio Alejandro Zapata has allegedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in multiple incidents in June at a trailer park near 506th Street in Frazee. Zapata also reportedly filmed and took pictures of some of the acts.

Court files say he was intoxicated during some of the incidents.

Zapata has previously been accused of committing sexual acts with children in Texas, where he is from. That was in 2015, and no charges were filed. He has lived in Frazee for part of this year, court documents state.

Zapata was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in his first court appearance.

In Minnesota, there are five degrees of sexual conduct charges, with first-degree being the most severe.

His next hearing in court is set to take place July 5.
