Man accused of Barnum robbery, kidnapping

A man was arrested after robbing a woman in her Barnum home and forcing her to drive him to Pine County.

The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office reported a woman returned home Monday to find an unknown man in her home. The man displayed a handgun, robbed her and forced her to drive him to a location in Pine County, where she left the scene unharmed after dropping him off, according to the sheriff’s office. The incident was reported to the sheriff’s office at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Deputies learned the man’s identity during an investigation and sent an “attempt to locate” to other law enforcement agencies. The man was arrested by the Prior Lake Police Department at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office. Carlton County deputies transported him to the Carlton County Jail, where he is now being held.

The sheriff’s office reported that there doesn’t appear to be a connection between the man and woman.
