And yet, another accused pervert that Judge Donovan Frank wants to protect. Disgusting. How long will it be before this is defined as a “disorder” or “disease”?

A 27-year-old Hibbing man has been charged with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct after allegedly breaking into a Hibbing home early Tuesday and molesting a five-year-old girl.

Travis Lee Turk was arrested and charged Wednesday and remains in the St. Louis County Jail pending $100,000 bail.

Turk is charged with sexual penetration or contact with a person under age 13. Each count bring a maximum 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. He was also charged with two counts of first degree burglary

According to the criminal complaint, Turk admitted to his live-in girlfriend that he had molested the girl and that he had a history of molesting “about 15 other children” while he was a teenager.

The complaint states that just before 1 a.m. Tuesday Hibbing Police officers responded to a call on the 100 block of East 25th Street, and spoke with a person who said she woke up hearing her child screaming and found a man holding the child.

“She told the male to ‘drop my kid,’ ” the complaint notes, and the man complied, then ran downstairs and out of the home. Officers later found a screen had been removed from a downstairs window that had been opened.

Officers searched the area with the help of the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, but were initially unable to locate the suspect. An investigation was set in motion, and after obtaining a search warrant, authorities arrested Turk.

According to the complaint, Turk drank a bottle of rum before the incident, and told his girlfriend that she needed to cover for him because he had molested a little girl. Instead, she told police everything he had said.

The child was taken to Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi where it was determined the child was not physically injured, officials said Wednesday.
