Man faces heroin charge after arrest at Duluth motel

A Chicago man faces felony charges after being found in possession of more than 39 grams of heroin individually packaged for sale, Duluth police said.

Darrell Williams, 28, is charged with first-degree sale of a controlled substance.

Members of the Duluth Police Department and Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force arrested Williams on Tuesday during the execution of a search warrant at a West Duluth motel.

Police said they found 50 individually packaged bags of heroin weighing 26.6 grams in a pair of jeans. An additional 24 bags, weighing 12.7 grams, and $2,500 in cash were found in a duffel bag, according to a news release.

Williams’ bail was set at $75,000 during an initial appearance Thursday in State District Court in Duluth.
