Search warrant leads to drug arrests

A 26-year-old Duluth woman and 35-year-old Chicago man were arrested on drug charges Friday during the execution of a search warrant at a Duluth apartment complex.


Katrina Liekeshia Mabry and Aaron Andre Reynolds were taken into custody early in the afternoon in the area of the 2000 block of West Fourth Street after investigators first observed a drug transaction taking place outside the apartment building, said a Duluth Police Department news release.

Heroin and cash were located by the police and Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force in the vehicle in which the transaction took place, said the news release. During execution of the search warrant, an additional 5 grams of individually packaged heroin, 11.5 grams of crack cocaine and a substantial amount of cash were seized, said the news release.

Mabry has been charged in State District Court with first-degree controlled substance crime and second-degree aid and abet controlled substance crime; Aaron Andrew Reynolds has been charged with second-degree aid and abet, second-degree controlled substance crime and third-degree sale of a controlled substance.

Reynolds has a lengthy criminal history, including other drug convictions as well as simple robbery, domestic assault and driving violations.
